American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons


Dr. Stetson is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons and served as Chairman of the International Committee from 2012 – 2016. The purpose of this committee is to globalize orthopaedic surgical education.  The committee is in charge of 9 – 12 education programs per year in countries such as Iraq, Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Japan, China, Thailand and others. The committee is also in charge of The Academy’s International Surgical Skills and Emerging Leaders Program which administers 10 – 12 scholarships per year to international surgeons to come to the U.S. Dr. Stetson has traveled to Romania and Beijing, China on behalf of the AAOS and led the delegation conducting symposiums on shoulder injuries and treatments.
