Stetson Powell Orthopedics celebrated its eight year anniversary on October 31st, 2013! The office first opened on Halloween in 2005 with 5 employees and has grown to 22 employees today.
On January 25th, 2014 Operation Arthroscopy performed another Volunteer Saturday. Dr. Stetson and his surgical team at Glendale Endoscopy and Surgery Center volunteered their time, knowledge, and equipment to perform pro bono surgeries and post operative treatment. Drs. Stetson and Powell, along with Dr. Guido Marra from Northwestern and Dr. Buddy Savoie from Tulane University, traveled to Beijing to teach a shoulder course at the Annual Meeting of the Chinese Orthopedic Association. Sponsored by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the presentations on fractures, instability, rotator cuff repair and shoulder replacement prompted lively discussion with their Chinese colleagues. Dr. Stetson was featured in an episode of “The Doctors” television show to discuss the possible treatment options for one Entertainment Tonight executive’s meniscus tear and ACL tear in his knee. Dr. Stetson traveled to Cluj-Naapoca, Romania to represent the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons (AAOS) at an international education program sponsored jointly by the AAOS and the Romanian Orthopedic Society. This was the 15th Annual Romanian National Orthopedic Congress and the first time the AAOS has been asked to participate. Dr. Stetson, accompanied by Dr. Guido Marra of Northwestern University, gave a full day of lectures on basic and advanced shoulder surgical techniques.
